Tech Tips for the health of your scooter!
1. Change your engine and gear oil!
- Make sure your oil is changed when new, 200-300 miles, 1000 miles, and every 1000 miles thereafter. Make sure to use high quality SCOOTER/MOTORCYLE oil. NOT car oil. This is VERY important. The oil changes should be performed at your local dealership.
- Check your oil every time you fill up with gas. The scooter should be on its center stand and the oil dipstick screwed in all the way.
2. Ride your scooter often!
- The carburetor has very small jets. When the scooter sits for any period of time (especially during the winter when there is more ethanol in the fuel), the jets clog up.
3. Check your tire pressure often.
- Your tire pressure should be what is indicated on the side of the tire – typically around 32-36PSI cold.
4. Winterize your scooter.
5. Keep your battery on a trickle charger when you do not ride often.
6. Keep your scooter clean!
